Body

Stress accumulates throughout our days and is stored in our bodies. Trauma (along with healing) is also passed down through successive generations. In short, the body keeps the score. The healing process must acknowledge the tremendous difficulty and blessing it has been to be in your particular body. Through noticing and naming what is felt in the body, whether it is pain, discomfort, or exhilaration, we can come to deeper awareness and have more agency in our lives disrupting old patterns. Somatic allyship is a process rooted in ancient thought, and yet recognizes our current triggers—related to trauma—happening throughout our day in our bodies.
